Helen Weifenbach
Helen M. Weifenbach, 76, of Yucaipa, California, formerly of Mapleton, died Monday, October 31, 1994, at her home.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton with the Rev. Karen Handke officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Weifenbach was born July 6, 1918, in Danbury, the daughter of Charles and Irene (McGarrity) Driscoll. She married Carl Weifenbach August 23, 1938, in Danbury. The couple lived in Mapleton until 1970 when they moved to California. They returned to Iowa and lived in Anthon, Des Moines, and Sioux City.

He died June 3, 1984, and she moved to Yucaipa at that time.

Survivors include six daughters: Sandra and her husband, John Kidd, of West Covina, California; Carmen and her husband, Richard Mead, of Cherry Valley, California; Pamela Palmer of Correctionville, Iowa; Sherri Hallmark of Las Vegas, Nevada; Terri and her husband, John Faux, of San Bernardino, California; and Yolanda Weifenbach of Yucaipa, California; five sons, Randy of Modesto, California; Richard of Hinsdale, Illinois, Daniel of Fontana, California; Wendell of Mesa, Arizona; and Roger of Reno, Nevada; 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Carl Jr.

Note for historical purposes - these children attended Manning, Iowa, Schools but none of them graduated here: Carmen, Carl, Pamela, Wendell, Richard, Sherry, Daniel, and Randy.

After Irene's first husband died she married John Jacoby - they were married in Manning in 1957, before moving to Sioux City.
