MRS. DOUGLAS (HELEN) ROGERS

Mrs. Douglas (Helen) Rogers, 91, widow of a widely-known Manning lawyer, died Saturday, May 26, 1979, at the Manning General Hospital.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Church here with the Rev. Msgr. Dean Walker officiating. A rosary was held by Catholic Daughters of the Americas at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Ohde Funeral Home. Another rosary was scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Survivors are two step-daughters, Eulalia R. Jaeger, Littleton, Colorado; and Ruth R. Turner, Fort Wayne, Indiana; two nieces, Louise Torosian, Los Angeles, California; and Caroline Kruchko, Vienna, Virginia; and 12 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister Caroline Maloney and three brothers, Charles, Harry, and George Flannery.

Mrs. Rogers was born January 31, 1888, at Cedar Rapids, a daughter of Henry and Margaret (Callahan) Flannery. She graduated from Iowa City High School and worked for many years for the Union Pacific Railroad at Omaha, Nebraska.

In November of 1936 she was married to Douglas Rogers in Manning. He died in 1960. She continued to make her home in Manning until she entered the hospital a short time ago.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Manning and of Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
