Her funeral and celebration of life is 11 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church in Great Falls.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Fullen-Wider Park Funeral Home in Buffalo.
Hazel is survived by sons Jack Readicker and wife Susie of Buffalo, Lyle Readicker and friend Melanie of Great Falls, Bob Readicker and wife Patti of Spokane, Washington; and Rich Readicker and wife Robyn of Grapevine, Texas; a daughter, Jane (Readicker) Olson and husband Cliff of Jefferson City, Tennessee; 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Hazel (Anderson) Readicker, a faithful servant of God, left this earth peacefully in her sleep on September 10, 2007, at the age of 101 1/2 years young.
Hazel was born in 1906, in Manning, Iowa, to Jens "Fred" and Katherine Anderson. She was the eighth of 10 children.
She graduated with a nursing degree from the University of Minnesota in 1929 and received a scholarship to the Henry Street Nursing Academy in New York City.
During the 1930s, Hazel worked as a traveling nurse for the State Board of Health in Helena, Montana.
In 1937, she married William Adam Readicker who preceded her in death in 1964.
Hazel completed a refresher course for nursing in 1968 at Montana State University and worked for Montana nursing homes before retiring in 1976.
After retirement, she did volunteer work for several years at the Red Cross Blood Bank in Great Falls.
Hazel moved to Grapevine, Texas, in 2001, to live with her youngest son, Richard Readicker, and his family. While there, she crocheted more than 300 Afghans and lap robes for homebound seniors until losing her eyesight in 2005.
She was an active member of both the Grapevine and Bedford Senior Centers through August 2007.
Hazel was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was known for her kindness and sense of humor. She loved to play pinochle and attend sporting events for her children and grandchildren. Her never-ending desire to "take care" of others and reminders for everyone to "eat their tomatoes so you don't get cancer" and "don't eat that dang sugar" will forever be remembered.
Her presence on Earth was a gift to all who knew her.
