HARRY MUNDT

Harry Mundt, 88, a resident of the Manning Plaza, died at Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Denison, on Monday, November 27, 1972.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, Manilla. The Rev. Ronald E. Meyer will officiate; grandsons will be pallbearers.

Burial will be in the Nishnabotna Cemetery at Manilla. Friends may call at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla after 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Mundt was born February 1, 1884, in East Boyer Township, Crawford County, a son of Fred and Minnie (Homeier) Mundt. He received his education in rural schools.

His marriage to the former Sophie Schutt took place March 2, 1910, in the Manilla Lutheran parsonage. They farmed northwest of Manilla until they retired and moved to Manilla in 1947. Mrs. Mundt died February 5, 1971.

He then became a resident of the Manning Plaza where he suffered a stroke Thursday, November 23, and was transferred to the Crawford County Hospital.

Survivors Include three sons, Gilbert and Orville of Manilla and Leroy of Manning; a daughter, Mrs. Lavern (Erma) Jorgensen of Irwin; 19 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. Zena Stegeman, Mrs. Martha Steinkuehler, Mrs. Hattie Steckelberg, and Mrs. Ida Thompson, all of Denison; Fred Mundt, Jr., of Manning, and Mrs. Gertrude Long of Omaha, Nebraska.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, two brothers and one sister.
