HANS J. OHRT

Funeral services for Hans J. Ohrt, 86, Arcadia, retired farmer, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 23, 1957, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. The Rev. Carl Sinning of the Presbyterian Church will officiate. Ray Pratt will be vocal soloist and Bonita (Mrs. Herman W.) Hagedorn, accompanist.

Burial will be in Hayes Township Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Charles Stuhr, Forrest Wiese, Louie Jentzen, Ira Rowedder, Lenus Andersen, and Darrell Andersen.

Mr. Ohrt was born October 23, 1870, at Feddringer, Germany. He was baptized in the Lutheran faith in Germany.

At the age of 11 years, he came to the United States with his parents who settled south of Westside.

He was married to Lena Johannsen February 15, 1900. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. Herbert Kroeger. For the last 23 years the Kroegers have lived with Mr. Ohrt on his farm eight miles north of Manning.

Mr. Ohrt's wife died in 1934. He was also preceded in death by a brother, John, and three sisters, Emma and Dora, in infancy, and Mrs. Albert (Catherine) Fonken.

Surviving with his daughter are two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Henry Ohrt, Harlan; and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Biehl, Manning.

Mr. Ohrt, who had been in declining health four years, was taken to the hospital three days before his death.
