MRS. OTTO (HANNAH) PAYSEN

Funeral services for Mrs. Otto (Hannah) Paysen, 91, of Manning were held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, with Rev. Joel Wright, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, Manning officiating. Organist was Mrs. Lois Knudson. An Order of Eastern Star Memorial Service was held at 2:30p.m.

Pallbearers were Carl Schrum, Don Hahnenkratt, Russell McLaughlin, Elroy Schrum, James Madigan, and Frank McLaughlin. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning.

Mrs. Paysen, daughter of Fredrick and Catherine (Schumann) Schrum, was born on November 19, 1885, near Manning. Her marriage to Otto Paysen took place on March 16, 1910, at the home of her parents, in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa. They lived in Manning until 1930 when they moved to Wyoming and returned to Manning to make their home in 1971. She has been a resident of the Manning Plaza for the past several years, passing away on October 27, 1977.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. JoAnn Madigan of Rego Park, New York; and Mrs. Jeanette Brooks of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, John Schrum of Manning, and a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth McLaughlin of Audubon.

She was preceded in death by her husband three days before her death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Nick and William Schrum.
