Infant Son Of Ed Petersen Dies

Gordon Lee, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Petersen, passed away at the Wyatt Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon at about one o'clock.

The child had been ill for about three weeks with pneumonia, but all that loving hands and medical aid could do proved to no avail and the home was saddened when death took its toll.

Gordon Lee Petersen was born February 28, 1937, at Tacoma, Washington, and passed away at Manning, Iowa on January 3rd, 1938, at the age of 10 months and six days. The family returned to Manning in June and has been making their home in the A.N. Petersen home.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the Rev. Theodore H. Tews of Arcadia officiating. Burial was in the Hayes Township Cemetery. Acting as pall bearers were four cousins, Donnie Petersen, Walter and Vernon Noelk, and Henry Herrmann.

Those left to mourn the passing of the baby are the parents and a sister, Mary Lou; the grandparents Mr. and Mrs. A.N. Petersen of Manning and Mrs. Magdaline Herrmann of Germany besides a host of other relatives.

The community extends sympathy to the family in its hour of sorrow.

We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to our many friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us in so many ways in our recent bereavement, during the illness and at the dearth of our beloved son and brother. We also wish to thank Rev. Tews for his consoling words, the choir for their music and those who sent floral offerings.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed Petersen and Mary Lou.
