Golda M. Sander, 77, a retired school teacher, died Wednesday, May 12, 1982, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 15, at the Presbyterian Church in Manning with the Rev. Dennis Johnson officiating. Odessa Wycoff will be organist and the church choir and congregation will sing. Burial, under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home of Manning, will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Charles Moore, Arthur Rix, William Sander, Merlene Thompson, Dr. Walter Felker, and Alvan Hansen. Named to be honorary bearers are Dr. E.W. Frahm, Clyde Kenyon, Herbert Bromert, Frank Vetter, Harry Hinz, and Herbert Groteluschen.

Mrs. Sander is survived by her husband Raymond Sander, Manning; a daughter, Mrs. Ron (Faith) Schroeder, West Des Moines; two grandchildren: Elizabeth Ann and John Bryan Schroeder; a brother-in-law, Roy Sander and his wife Leona, Audubon, and a sister-in-law, Erna Sander, Manning.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Roger in infancy in 1940, a brother Wilford Moore and two sisters; Nettie Grau and Sylvia Lawrence.

Mrs. Sander was born in Nevada, Missouri, on August 19, 1904, a daughter of Charley and Isabelle (Dales) Moore. She came to Iowa at a young age and settled in Botna where she attended school. She graduated from Manning High School in 1923 and took Normal Training, completing full requirements over a period of years at Drake University, Des Moines.

She taught in schools of the Manning area a total of 34 years, first in rural grades and later in the Manning Community Schools from 1955 to 1968 when she retired.

She was married to Raymond Sander on August 19, 1929. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, was active in Esther Circle and the United Presbyterian Women.

The family suggests that friends who wish to do so may contribute memorials to the Manning Presbyterian Church.

Note: Golda taught Amos Kusel at Ewoldt No. 3 and his son, David Kusel, in Manning Elementary School.
