Audubon, Iowa, April 14
George Wever, a well-known and prosperous farmer of Lincoln Township was found
dead at his home thirteen miles northwest of this city at an early hour yesterday
morning. Mr. Wever had been in his usual good health when he retired. At 2
o'clock his wife went to his bedside and at that time he seemed to be all
right. In the morning his wife went to call him for breakfast and found him
cold in death. She at once called her daughter, Mrs. Peter Paulsen, who lives
nearby and a physician was called. Death was either the result of heart failure or a stroke of apoplexy.
Mr. Wever was about 63 years of age and leaves a widow and four children: Lee Wever of Coon Rapids; Denny Wever of near Waterloo; Mrs. Peter Paulsen, who resides near her parents; and one daughter who lives in Rock Island, Illinois.
Mr. Wever came to Audubon County thirty-four years ago and
with the exception of a few years that he lived north of Templeton. He has been
a resident of Lincoln Township. He was a prosperous farmer and enjoyed a wide acquaintance.
