When thirty years of age he came to Davenport, Iowa. He was married to Mary Ann Stevens in 1853. Mr. and Mrs. Redick came to Carroll County in the spring of 1874 and lived here until about ten years ago. They then moved to Pocahontas, Iowa, where they resided, until August 1911, when they went to Springfield Missouri, to make their home with their son E.G.
To Mr. and Mrs. Redick were born eleven children of whom six together with the wife and mother survive.

Redick of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Emerson Garfield Redick of Springfield, Missouri. In early life the deceased united with the Presbyterian Church of which he ever remained a faithful member.
The body was brought to Manning, Iowa, were services were held from the Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Scoggan, of the Methodist Episcopal Church and the body was laid to rest beside a daughter in the Iowa Township Cemetery.
The remains of the old gentleman were brought to Manning, Iowa, for interment.
The intimacy between the Grant and Redick families is one of long standing, dating back to the days when this country was rather sparsely populated, and has been kept up through all these years.
