Fritz Nielsen
Death of Fritz Nielsen.
Fritz Nielsen, who is one among the oldest residents of the city, died at his home on Elm
Street, March 28th; old age and other complications were the direct cause of his death. He
has been a good, honest, hardworking man since coming to Manning in 1883. He was a
good, kind man and an indulgent father and leaves many warm friends behind to mourn
his death.
Fritz Andrew Nielsen was born in Suedheistedt, Norder Dithmarschen, Germany, April 6, 1833; came to America and direct to Manning in 1883. He was married the same year to Katharina Schroeder. He is survived by his wife, two children and one brother.
The funeral was held at the home, March 31st, Rev. Fauth, of Westside, officiated, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Manning cemetery, south of town. The relatives of the deceased have the sympathy of this community.
