At the George Mohr home where be had lived since his wife died some eleven years ago, Frederick C. Mohr passed quietly away, to the other land October 5, 1913, aged 81 years, 1 month, and 21 days. He had rounded out a full life, raised a good family of sons and daughters, and left this earth with the praise of all those who knew him as a true friend and neighbor.
He was born in Germany, August 14, 1830, and came to America in 1871, settling near Clinton. Twelve years before coming, to America he had married Miss Marie Kruse. In 1892 he with his family came to Crawford County where he has since resided.
The names of the sons are Otto, Chris, John, and George of Manning, and Peter of Ute, Iowa. All were present at the funeral. One daughter, Mrs. Ronnfeldt grew to womanhood and married but died some time ago.
The funeral was held Tuesday, Rev. Wendt, of Manilla preaching the funeral. The body was then taken by kind hands to Iowa Township Cemetery where it was laid to rest.
In the passing away of Mr. Mohr one of the oldest of the citizens about Manning passes away. He had lived a good life and the good he has done will live after him though his body is laid to rest. The sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of all their friends in the loss of one very dear to them.
