Frederick J. W. Nulle
Funeral services for Frederick John William Nulle were held Friday, February 12, 1993, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, Iowa. Pastor Robert Riggert officiated the service with Fern Jensen as organist. Interment was held in Manning City Cemetery with Leander Halbur, Donald Pfannkuch, Dan Lorenzen, Leland Kienast, Larry Ahrendsen, and Russell Mohr as casketbearers. Bud Weible, Ronnie Hiatt, Emil Vetter, Kenneth Pfannkuch and Eddie Fischer were honorary casketbearers.

Frederick, son of August and Kate (Musfeldt) Nulle, was born October 6, 1911, on the family farm southwest of Manning where he lived and farmed until his retirement in 1974. After his retirement Fred kept his hand in farming by assisting his nephew, Merlin Nulle, of Westside.

On October 6, 1936, Fred was united in marriage with Marie Nielsen. Four children, Joyce, Catherine, Fred Jr., and Janet were born to this union. Marie passed away on May 31, 1951.
Fred was united in marriage with Marie Rostermundt on November 22, 1956, and a stepson, Merlin, joined the family.

Fred was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church; he was baptized in February of 1912 and confirmed in April of 1927. He was very active in church activities and organizations, holding numerous offices during the years. An avid bowler, Fred was a charter member of the Lutheran men's team and continued to bowl until recent years when his health began to fail.

Fred entered the Manning General Hospital on January 25 and died there on February 9, 1993, at the age of 81 years, 4 months, and 3 days.
Besides his first wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother, Harry.

Survivors include his wife, Marie, of Manning; his children: Joyce and her husband, George (Bud) Eschenbacher, of Rosemount, Minnesota; Catherine Deiber, of Scottsdale, Arizona; Fred Nulle, Jr. and his wife, Virginia, of Webster City; and Janet and her husband, Leo Dowlin, of Independence, Kansas; a step-son, Merlin Rostermundt and his wife, Marilyn, of Ireton; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.


Frederick Nulle is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
