A son of John and Anna (Nottelmann) Musfeldt, he was born February 12, 1878, in Holstein, Germany, and came to the United States in 1882. The family settled near Westside where the father was a carpenter. Later they moved to Aspinwall, and began farming in this vicinity. On February 17, 1914, he was married to Emma Ruge. They farmed a short while south of Manning; then moved to a farm one mile east of Aspinwall, where they lived until 16 years ago, when they moved into Aspinwall.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Henry and John, and a sister, Mrs. Katie Nulle.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, Harry, Manning; Carl, Aspinwall; Donald, Cleveland, Ohio; and a daughter, Mrs. Harold (Alice) Beck, Westside; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and the following brothers: William, Julius, Hans, Frank, and Louie, all of Manning.
