FRANK VOLLMER

Frank Vollmer, 90, died at his home here Tuesday afternoon March 17, 1959. He had lived in Manning about 45 years.

Mr. Vollmer's son, the Very Rev. Msgr. Edward V. Vollmer, pastor of St. Lawrence Church, Carroll, will be the celebrant of solemn requiem high mass at 10 a.m. Friday in Sacred Heart Church here. The Most Rev. Joseph M. Mueller, D.D., bishop of the Sioux City diocese, will give the absolution.

The body may be viewed after Thursday noon at the Ohde Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday.

Mr. Vollmer had been in business in Manning after his retirement from farming.

He was born November 20, 1868, at Guttenberg, Iowa. He was married in 1894 to Mary Macke who died in 1933.

Surviving are eight sons, Mike and Charles Vollmer; Austin, Minnesota; Franklin Vollmer, Albert Lea, Minnesota; Leo Vollmer, Arcadia, California; James Vollmer, Des Moines; Paul Vollmer, Manning; the Very Rev. Msgr. Edward V. Vollmer, Carroll; and Joe Vollmer, Minneapolis, Minnesota; five daughters, Mrs. Norbert (Loretta) Hamill, Concord, California; Mrs. Ed (Clara) Bargenquast, Manilla; Mrs. Julius (Margaret) Rowedder, Mrs. Harold (Flossie) Hunter, and Mrs. John (Isabelle) Meiers, Manning.

He also leaves 35 grandchildren, 27-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Deceased children are Frankie and LaVerne, in infancy, Mrs. Bob (Bertha) Kuhl, Mrs. Martin (Dollie) McDonald, and Mrs. George (Caroline) Bassinet.

Mr. Vollmer was a member of Sacred Heart Church.
