In 1971, Bud and Elsie moved to rural Independence to be near their daughter, Mary, and her husband, Bill, and grandchildren Karl, George, John, and Sarah.
Bud passed away in 1983, and Elsie died on December 27, 1974.
They were preceded in death by a son, John Robert, who died in 1941 at the age of eight.
