FRANCES CATHERINE SEGEBART
On April 4, 1943 Frances was united in marriage with Alex Thomas Segebart at Las Cruces, New Mexico. Following World War II Frances and Alex farmed in Hayes Township and in 1950 moved to their own farm in East Boyer Township. Alex died in January of 1961.
The church was an important part of Frances' life; she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was active in Trinity Lutheran Church at Manilla, where she was a member of the Priscilla Guild and served as Sunday school teacher for 15 years. She was a member of the SNAP neighborhood club and was an avid bowler.
Frances died unexpectedly on Wednesday evening, January 6, 1988 at Crawford County Memorial Hospital, Denison, Iowa at the age of 66 years, 4 months, and 21 days.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Frances is survived by her sons: Michael, of Denison; Mark and his wife, Cathie, of Vail; and Dwight, of Denison; by two grandchildren, Martha Sue, age 9 and Alex James, age 4; by a brother, Howard A. Ehrichs and his wife, June, of Fullerton, California; by the following brother and sisters-in-law: Madonna Segebart, of Denison; Carl Segebart and his wife, Berniece, cf Vail; and Betty Miller, of Denison; by two aunts, Mrs. Hertha Behrend, of Manilla and Mrs. Mildred Joens, of Manning; by one uncle, Mr. Bill Joens, of Manilla; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
