Mrs. Frank Polking, 95, of Breda died at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 1974, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, where she was a patient for two weeks.
Funeral rites will be held at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in St. Bernard's Church here, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. John C. Doherty as celebrant of the mass of the resurrection. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Sharp Funeral Home in Breda. A scriptural prayer service at 8 p.m. Monday will be followed by a rosary recitation at 8:45 by the Christian Mothers Sodality.
Mrs. Polking was the former Frances Julich, daughter of Matthias and Juliana (Dunck) Julich. She was born May 1, 1878, at Maple River and spent her early years in that vicinity. On January 26, 1904, she married Mr. Polking at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. F.H. Huesmann officiating at the ceremony. They farmed two and three-quarters miles northwest of Breda until retiring and moving into Breda in 1950. Mr. Polking died February 2, 1966, and since 1968, Mrs. Polking had lived with her daughter, Mrs. Joe Klahs, in Carroll.
She was a member of St. Bernard's Church, the Christian Mothers Sodality and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Mrs. Policing is survived by eight children including Arthur and Mrs. Klahs (Grace) of Carroll, Lawrence of Manning, Mrs. Tony (Mildred) Pick, Mrs. Walter (Juliana) Fee, Edgar, Marcell, and Ray of Breda; 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Englebert Julich of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Fred Julich of Carroll and Carl Julich of Des Moines; and three sisters, Mrs. Henry Stork of Breda; Mrs. Joe Tegels of Maple River and Mrs. Henry Brune of Springfield, Missouri.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Julich was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Linda Klahs, five sisters, and three brothers.
