MRS. JOSEPH SCHARFENKAMP

Mrs. Joseph E. Scharfenkamp, 51, of Carroll died of a heart ailment about 12:15 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 1966, at St. Anthony Hospital, where she had been a patient since November 27.

Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Monday in SS. Peter and Paul Church by the Very Rev. Leo Lenz, V.F. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carroll. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday at the Twit Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Saturday; at 3 p.m. Sunday, and at 8 p.m. Sunday by the Holy Spirit Women's Guild.

Mrs. Scharfenkamp was the former Florence Rose Signall, daughter of the late Phillip and Katherine (Muxen) Signall. She was born February 3, 1915, at Manning and had been a Carroll resident for 33 years. She attended elementary school at Manning and graduated from Carroll High School.

Her marriage to Joseph E. Scharfenkamp took place November 26, 1936, in St. Joseph Church, Carroll, with the late Rt. Rev. Msgr. P.T. Lynch officiating. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and the Holy Spirit Women's Guild.

Surviving is her husband; six children, Mrs. John (Judy) Schott, Omaha, Nebraska; Mrs. Robert (Eileen) Nolan, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Leo and Paul, both in the armed services; Alan and Steven, at home; also five grandchildren; one brother, Howard Signall, Carroll; and three sisters, Eileen (Mrs. Reuben) Stone, Carroll; Phyllis (Mrs. Harold) Shanahan, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Marita (Mrs. Wilmer) Schelle, Breda.
