Mr. and Mrs. William Plahn, who were called to Chicago on Friday, September 16, 1938, by the death of Mr. Plahn's aged father, Ferdinand Plahn, returned to Pierce last Wednesday. Funeral services were held in Chicago Monday, September 19th.
Deceased suffered a stroke on September 14th, passing away two days later.
During the two days he did not regain consciousness. He was born in Germany where he lived until he was 72 years of age. He and his wife, Caroline (Wulf), then came to the United States, first living with their son, William, at Pierce for some time and then going to Chicago to make, their home with a daughter. The mother died two years ago. Mr. Plahn was 87 years of age at the time of his death in Germany he worked as a shipbuilder.
Three daughters and three sons survive, Miss Magdalene Plahn, of Chicago with whom her parents lived, William, of Pierce; Herman of Carroll, Iowa; Mrs. Johanna Kaufman, New York; August, Manning, Iowa; Mrs. Anna Sorensen, Germany.
Also forty-one, grandchildren, a number of whom live in Pierce and vicinity.
Note: Caroline (Wulf) Plahn died April 10, 1936, in Chicago
