Fay Schleisman, 80, of Carroll, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Manning Regional Healthcare Center in Manning.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at Holy Spirit Church in Carroll. Celebrant will be Father Timothy Johnson. Con-celebrant will be Father Brian Danner. Lector will be Matt Danner. Gift bearers will be Chris, Barb, Brooklyn, Payton and Kamdyn Danner. Music will be by organist Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir. Communion ministers will be Lorraine Danner and Ruth Schreck. Honorary casket bearers will be Annabelle Von Bon, Pauline Schmitz, Ruth Schreck, Dorothy Hoffman, Millie Heithoff, Freda Axman, Lorraine Schultes, Jane Peter, Carol Klocke, and Freda Tigges. Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Holy Family Cemetery in Lidderdale.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Spirit Church. Funeral arrangements are by Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll, and online condolences may be left for Fay's family at www.sharpfuneral.com.
Fay Ann was born May 2, 1932, at Templeton, Iowa, a daughter of Joe and Loretta (Greteman) Irlbeck. As a child her family moved to Dedham where Fay attended St. Joseph School and later moved to Carroll where she attended St. Lawrence School and graduated from St. Angela Academy with the Class of 1950. Fay later graduated from Des Moines Area Community College licensed practical nurse program in 1977 and for 18 years was employed by the Traveling Nurses of America covering seven states. In 1950 she was married to Phil Kennebeck, and to this union was born four children. In 1979 Fay married Don Schleisman, and they resided in Dedham until 1982 when they moved to Sherman, Texas.
Fay is survived by her children, John Kennebeck and his wife Phyllis of Lake Wilson, Minnesota, and Nancy Danner and her husband Rich of Templeton; two grandsons, Chris Danner and his wife Barb and their children Brooklyn, Payton and Kamdyn of Templeton, and Matt Danner of Carroll; and two stepchildren, Sandy (Jerry) White of Churdan and Jim Schleisman of Fort Dodge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; two sons, Greg and Mark Kennebeck; and two stepchildren, Janice Wiskus and Don Schleisman, Jr.
