Evelyn A. Sorenson, age 97, of Council Bluffs, passed away June 1, 2015, at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Evelyn was born July 25, 1917, in Manning, Iowa, to the late Soren and Carla (Jensen) Andersen. She graduated high school and married Donald E. Sorenson on January 26, 1939. They were blessed with two children, Noreen and Donald R. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Sorenson in 2001; son, Donald R. Sorenson in 1979; siblings, Walter, Lucille and Mildred.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Noreen Howard; grandchildren, Deana, Jenny, Daniel and Sheri; several great grandchildren and special friend, Jim Bachman.

Graveside service and burial, Saturday, 10 a.m., in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Salvation Army.
