MRS. EVALENA PAULSEN
The Rev Andrew H. Hofer of the Audubon Presbyterian Church officiated at the funeral service for Mrs. Evalena Paulsen, 83, at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery.

Mrs. Paulsen, widow of the late Henry Paulsen, died Saturday, August 13, 1966, at St. Anthony Hospital, Carroll, where she had been a patient for five weeks.

Born February 20, 1883, at Clinton, she was the daughter of Marx and Christina (Toelk) Hass. The family moved to Crawford County when Mrs. Paulsen was a year old. She was married January 30, 1907, at Carroll to Henry Paulsen and they farmed southeast of Manning until two years prior to his death in 1958, when they moved into Manning. After his death, she moved to Coon Rapids. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death also by three sons, four brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include five children, Marvin of Coon Rapids, Herman of Canoga Park, California; Henry A. of Irwin; Mrs. Ed (Lily) Goddard of Coon Rapids, and Alvin E. of Union, Missouri; two brothers, Frank Hass of Manning and Henry Hass of Lake View, Minnesota; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
