Manning Monitor

Thursday last news was received in Manning that. Mrs. Eva (Kuhn) Reynolds had died at the residence of her parents in Des Moines on that morning. This was sad intelligence, indeed, to the many friends of the young lady, who was known only a few short years ago as a member of the first graduating class of the Manning high schools. The family moved to Des Moines about three years ago, where the deceased was assistant principal in one of the schools. On May 17, last, she was married to Dr. Reynolds. We are without further particulars; excepting that the funeral will take place from the family residence at 2 o'clock this afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Kuhn have the heartfelt sympathy of all their old friends in their sad affliction.

The sudden death of Eva (Kuhn) Reynolds, at the home of her parents in Des Moines, last week, cast a shadow of sorrow over our Alumnal society. She was the first of sixty-five to be called hence. But though her life was brief, it was one of constant activity. In the spring time of 1888 she completed the course of study in the Manning schools and two years later graduated from Callanan College where she afterward held a position as instructor until her election to a position in University Place schools. She resigned the latter last spring and was married May 17 to Dr. Reynolds. The summer was spent in traveling and she had returned to her parental home but a few weeks before her death. She had a genial disposition which won for her many warm friends among her associates, and the sorrow evinced at her death shows that that "life is not measured by the time we live."
