Old friends and parishioners of the Rev. Dr. Enoch W. Nye will be saddened to know of his death in Caldwell, Idaho, on August 20, 1962, in his 80th year; born September 19, 1882.
He ministered in the Spencer community during the years of 1922-28 as pastor of the Methodist Church. Other pastorates in Nebraska were: Niobrara, Lynch, O'Neill, Bennett, Chambers, Valparaiso, Crawford, and Valley. He also did evangelistic work in the late 1920s and early 1930s, while his children were in college at Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Surviving him are his wife, Vivian, of Caldwell, Idaho; sons, the Rev. Dr. Harold N. Nye of the Methodist Church in Caldwell; the Rev. Dr. Laurence E. Nye, First Methodist, Portland, Oregon; the Rev. Roland W. Nye, Edgewood Congregational Church, New Haven, Connecticut; and the Rev. Kenneth E. Nye, Community Congregational Church of Glenview, Illinois; and a daughter, Esther Henderson of Lincoln. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were in Creighton on August 24, at which time all the members of his immediate family were present.
Interment was in the Greenwood Cemetery, Creighton, Nebraska.

Funeral services for Enoch Nye were held at Hengstler's Chapel and burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Jesse Withee
of Merna, a nephew of the deceased, officiated at the rites here, assisted by the Rev. David Gustafson, pastor of the local Methodist
Church. Music was furnished by Marjorie, Phyllis, Byron and Lowell Myers, great
nieces and nephews of Dr. Nye. Pallbearers were John Boydston,
Lester Withee, Leonard Clough, Elwin Fletcher, Wilbur Brown and Jim Gentzler.
Enoch W. Nye was born September 19, 1882, in Creighton and was reared here. He married Glenn Dale Fletcher at Creighton, February 7, 1904. She died at Lincoln in 1936. He married Mrs. Vivian Wendell at Bayard, February 6, 1937.
Dr. Nye served Methodist pastorates in Venus, Niobrara, Lynch, O"Neill, Spencer, Lincoln, Chambers, Crawford, and Valley, Nebraska; and Federated churches in Bennett, Nebraska; Jewell, Iowa; and Brimfield, Illinois, prior to going to Idaho. He was minister of the Fruitland, Idaho, church until his retirement in 1957, when he moved to Caldwell, Idaho, to make his home.
Surviving are his widow; four sons, the Rev. Dr. Harold N. Nye of the Caldwell First Methodist Church; Rev. Laurence E. Nye of the First Methodist Church at Portland, Oregon; the Rev. Roland E. Nye of the Congregational Church at New Haven, Connecticut; and The Rev. Kenneth E. Nye of the Congregational Church at Glenview, Illinois; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Henderson of Lincoln; a step-son, Donald E. Waskowiak of Stockton, California; two step-daughters, Mrs. Richard Iverson of Jewell, Iowa; and Mrs. Merrill Barlow of Des Moines, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. James Withee and Mrs. George Fletcher of Orchard, Nebraska; and Mrs. Roy Shull of O'Neill, Nebraska; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Among those from out of town at the services here were his widow and four sons; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Henderson, Dwain and Jean of Lincoln, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. Richard Iverson of Jewell, Iowa; a sister of Mrs. Nye and husband from Valley, Nebraska; Rev and Mrs. J.A. Withee of Merna, Nebraska; Dr. Nye's three sisters and their husbands; Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Fletcher and Miss Lila Fletcher of Norfolk, Nebraska, Mr. and Mrs. James Withee of Osmond, Nebraska; and Mr. and Mrs. Ken Withee of Plainview, Nebraska.
