Emma Christina (Boyens) Wiese, 85, of Manilla, died Sunday afternoon, November 11, 1984, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison.
Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, at Trinity Lutheran church in Manilla with the pastor, the Rev. Glenn Wiechmann, officiating. Marian Joens was organist and Carolyn Miller vocalist. Burial, under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home of Manilla, was in the Manning City Cemetery. Casketbearers were Larry Vodenik, Robert Wiese, Ronald Wiese, Michael Wiese, Gregg Wiese, and Matthew Wiese.
Mrs. Wiese is survived by her husband Henry, a resident of the Manilla Manor Nursing Home; three sons: Amos Wiese and his wife Thelma, Golden, Colorado; Merlin Wiese and his wife Marilynn, Auburn, Washington, and Roger Wiese and his wife Karen, Milford, Iowa; a daughter Inez Vodenik, Perry; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters: Elsie Wiese, a resident of the Manilla Manor Nursing Home, Manilla; Catherine Farley, Manilla Manor; Mrs. Louie (Elizabeth) Dammann, Manning; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Fred, Harry, and Andrew, and two sisters: Dora Soll and Margaret Schroeder.
Mrs. Wiese was born December 23, 1898, at Aspinwall, a daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth (Rohr) Boyens. She attended school in the Aspinwall area.
On December 17, 1919, she was married to Henry "Hank" Wiese. They made their home in the Manilla and Audubon areas and moved to the Manilla Manor Nursing Home five years ago. She was member of Trinity Lutheran church in Manilla and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith on March 3, 1912.
