Emma Widman
Emma Widman, 98, De Smet, South Dakota, died Tuesday, January 15, 1985, in De Smet Memorial Hospital.

Emma Sadie Widman was born June 29, 1886, in Manning, Iowa, daughter of Thomas Alexander and Sidney Ann (Peterson) Vincent, and came to South Dakota in 1907, to the Esmond community. She married Frank Widman April 2, 1908, in De Smet. She and her husband farmed in the De Smet area until their retirement when they moved into the town.

She is survived by two sons: Warren and Carl, De Smet; four daughters: Mrs. Ralph (Ruth) Morris, Sioux Falls; Mrs. Paul (Gertrude) Holland and Elsie Widman, both of De Smet; and Mrs. Kenneth (Bertha) Bushey, Bayfield, Colorado; 15 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother Vernon, De Smet.

Services will begin at 2 p.m. Friday in Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, De Smet. Burial will be in De Smet Cemetery.

Visiting will be prior to services at the Church Friday and from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 tonight in Osthus Funeral Home, De Smet.
