Death of Mrs. Emma Voss

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kuhl received word last Saturday morning that Mrs. Voss, Mrs. Kuhl's sister, who lives at Randolph, Nebraska, was dead. They in company with other relatives, at once took the train for that place.

Emma Margaret Agusta (Lohmeier) Voss was born at Leisem, Holstein, Germany. April 19, 1865, she came to the United States with her parents in 1868 and settled in Michigan, and moved to Crawford County in 1874.

She was married to Hans Voss, September 18, 1885, at Carroll, Iowa, and resided in the vicinity of Manning for several years prior to moving to Randolph, Nebraska, where they lived until about two years ago when they moved to Laurel, Nebraska. She leaves a husband, four children, six sisters, two brothers and her mother to mourn her loss. Mrs. Peter Miller, a sister, residing northwest of Manning has the baby at her home. The relatives attending the funeral from here were Mr. and Mrs. Peter Kuhl, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Miller and Peter, John, and Joe Lohmeier.

The bereaved have the sympathy of this community in their sad affliction.

Death of Mrs. Hans Voss
Mrs. Hans J. Voss died at her home four miles south of Laurel, Saturday, December 2, 1905, after a brief illness.

Emma Lohmeier was born in Germany April 19, 1865, her parents, Jochim and Christina (Singerling) Voss, coming to America in 1868, and locating in Michigan, moving to Carroll County Iowa, in 1875. On September 18, 1885, she was united in marriage to Hans Jacob Voss and nine years later Mr. and Mrs. Voss moved to Nebraska, locating on a farm near Randolph. Three years ago they moved to the present home.

Deceased leaves an aged mother, six sisters and three brothers, a devoted husband, two sons and two daughters, the youngest daughter being an infant, to mourn the loss and in this the relatives have the sympathy of all in their hour of bereavement.

The funeral was held from the family residence Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Hefner of the German Lutheran Church, the deceased being a member of that denomination at Randolph, and the remains laid to rest in the Laurel Cemetery.

The three brothers and two sisters and their husbands of Manning, Iowa, one sister from Omaha and one from Randolph were here to attend the funeral.

The infant daughter, Florence E. Voss, was taken to Manning, Iowa, by Mr. and Mrs. Peter Mueller, who will give it a home.

Note: Florence married Alfred Schneider and they are both buried in Saint Raphael Catholic Cemetery, Springfield, Minnesota.
