Emma Margaret Caroline Stombaugh, daughter of Henry F. and Anna Schroeder was born at Manning, Iowa, on May 17, 1901. She moved to Egan with her parents in 1918 and worked as a bookkeeper in her brothers's hardware store until she married Irving Stombaugh on February 6, 1924 at Sioux Falls. She has been a resident of Egan ever since. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary and the WSCS.

She is survived by her husband Irving; one son Eudean, Sioux Falls and two grandchildren whom they raised - Claudia and Dennis Lewis plus four other grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter Vergean Stombaugh Lewis, her parents, six brothers and two sisters.

Mrs. Irving Stombaugh

Egan, South Dakota - Services for Mrs. Irving Stombaugh, 74, Egan, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church.

She died unexpectedly at her home Thursday morning.

Emma Schroeder was born May 17, 1901, in Manning, Iowa. She moved to Egan with her parents, in 1918 and worked as a bookkeeper in her brothers's hardware store. On February 6, 1924, she was married to Irving Stombaugh in Sioux Falls. The couple made their home in Egan all their married life.

Survivors include the widower; a son, Eudean, Sioux Falls; two grandchildren whom they raised as their children, Claudia and Dennis Lewis, plus four more grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. (Skroch, Flandreau)
