Funeral services for Mrs. John (Emma) Schrum, of Manning, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Ohde Funeral Home, here. The Rev. Donald Jones, pastor of the Manning United Methodist Church, officiated. Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn was the organist, and Mrs. Judy Joens was the soloist. Interment was in the Manning Cemetery.
Mrs. Schrum was born December 17, 1894, near Manning, and died February 11, 1977, at her home in Manning.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry and Veeden (Sievers) Heesch. She attended rural schools northwest of Manning and was confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Her marriage to John Schrum took place in 1913 in Minnesota.
Mrs. Schrum was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, two sisters, and one great-grandchild.
She is survived by her husband, John, and the following children: Carl and Elroy of Manning, Mrs. Helen Tiefenthaler of Halbur, Delmas of Atlantic; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters: Herman and William Heesch and Irene Donaldson of Minnesota, Emil Heesch of Colorado and a sister-in-law, Esther Heesch, of Arizona.
