Emma Dorothea Wieck was born in Germany, July 21, 1870, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob and Marie (Petersen) Wieck. She came to the United States as a child with her parents, who settled in Iowa. In October 1888, she was married to Phillip Schoessler at Manning, Iowa. They came to Montana in 1916, and settled 10 miles south of Sumatra.
The Rev. Leo Tormoehlem of the Concordia Lutheran Church at Forsyth officiated at the final rites. Mrs. Jack Mees was in charge of the music. Burial was in the Forsyth Cemetery Forsyth, Montana.
Survivors are four sons, Henry Schoessler of Ingomar, Montana; John and Walter Schoessler of Sumatra, Montana; William Schoessler of Tipton, Iowa; three daughters: Emilie (Mrs. Bert) Shotwell of Forsyth, Mrs. Dorothy Kesterson of Sumatra, and Mrs. Florence Hansen of Missoula, Montana. There are 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Four sisters: Bena (Mrs. Otto) Bloom of Spokane, Washington; Carolina (Mrs. Robert) Bloom of Spangle,
Washington; Mrs. Dora Guth and Anna (Mrs. John J.) Will, of Aspinwall, Iowa, also survive.
