MRS. JOHN SCHADE
LAID TO ETERNAL REST, THURSDAY

A Kind Mother and Devoted Wife Victim of Untimely Death.
Services in Lincoln Twp.

The many friends of Mrs. John Schade will regret to learn that she passed this life Sunday afternoon, November 10th, 1929, in the hospital in Clarinda, Iowa, where she had been taken for treatments about 17 days prior to her demise.

She was a resident of this community all her life and enjoyed the honor and esteem of the entire community. Her course of life was irreproachable, devoted to her home and family. She served them all and well and she trusted in her Savior and passed away with His name on her lips.

She was a kind mother, a devoted wife, and a sympathetic friend, and her untimely death leaves a vacant chair in her home that will call to mind her sweet, motherly essentialities to her beloved ones for whom she lived her life and cared.

Emma Schade nee Wenzel was born in Manilla, Iowa, October 20, 1879, and was 50 years and 20 days of age at the time of her death.

She was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran faith and was a firm believer and devotee to her church throughout her life. In 1898, September 14th, she was united in holy wedlock to John Schade, the Reverend Krog of Manilla officiating, which union was blessed with 8 children of which one son John passed away in infancy. Those surviving and left to mourn her passing, besides the bereaved husband and father are Laura Rudnick, Raymond Schade, Beata David of Lincoln township, Audubon county; Leona Starck of Chicago; Viola and Merle at home, and Wilma of Chicago, who was reported to be taken to the hospital in Chicago, for an operation on Saturday, November 9, the day before the mother passed away.

She is also survived by her stepmother, Mrs. Charles Wenzel of Fort Dodge, Iowa; two sisters, Mrs. Jake Fielweber and Mrs. Fred Rutz of Manning, and the step-sisters, Mrs. Herman Huebner of Denison and the Misses Geraldine, Wilhelmine, and Magdalene Wenzel of Fort Dodge; three brothers, Siegfried Wenzel of Manilla, Helmuth Wenzel of Botna, and Bernhard Wenzel of Manning; a step-brother Carl Wenzel of Fort Dodge, and many other relatives and friends.

The deceased and husband resided in Manilla, Iowa, for about six months after their marriage, after which they moved to Manning where her husband held a position in hardware and implement business for twelve years. Considering that the better place for them was on a farm, they rented a farm in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, where they have lived ever since.

Her passing is a distinct loss and severe blow to her beloved ones, upon whom she doted with fervor and devotion as only a mother heart could love. But not only her immediate family feels this loss, Mrs. Schade was generally beloved and the innumerable friends extend their deepest sympathy to the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow.

The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, November 14th, from the Lincoln Township church, the Reverend Hugo Nieting, her pastor, officiating. Burial was made at the Lincoln Township cemetery. Pallbearers were G.F. Borkowski, John Weible, Fred Holtz, August Brown, Herman Ahrendsen, and William Schultz.
