Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Sattler, 67, were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 1977, at Christ Lutheran Church in Pierce. Rev. Hoyt Whitebread officiated. Organist was Brenda Bucklin. She accompanied Connie Wragge who sang "In The Garden" and "The Lord's Prayer."
Pallbearers were Fred Heller, Ray Zach, John Varner, Harold Schroeder, Kenneth Sutter, and Arnold Altwine. Interment was in Prospect Cemetery in Pierce.
Emma Plahn was born July 28, 1909, in Manning, Iowa, to William Plahn and his wife, Emma Konekamp. On April 8, 1929, she was united in marriage to Alfred Sattler at Columbus, Nebraska. She moved to New York in the early thirties where she was employed as manager of the credit department in a large department store in New York. She moved back to Pierce in 1968.
Survivors include son, Al Sattler, Norfolk; one daughter, Mrs. Louis (Eleanor) Maschi, Long Island, New York; five grandchildren; one brother, Henry Plahn, Plainview, and one sister, Mrs. Henry (Hilda) Zauner, Tilden. She was preceded by her parents, two brothers, four sisters, and one granddaughter.
