EMIL STEEN

Emil Steen was born February 7, 1893, to Henry and Rose (Ehlers) Steen.

He was united in marriage with Malinda Nulle on January 28, 1920. Following their marriage, they farmed near Manning until moving to town about 30 years ago. His wife died on March 12, 1976.

Emil continued to make his home in Manning until entering St. Anthony Hospital, Carroll about 19 days preceding his death. He died November 27, 1976, at the age of 83 years, 9 months, and 20 days.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Ida in 1892 and a brother Grover in 1973.

He is survived by one sister, Amanda, Mrs. Frank Stoelk, and by one brother, Edward Steen, both of Manning, three nieces and one nephew as well as other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, November 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning. The Rev. Donald A. Jones of United Methodist Church, Manning officiated. Mrs. Judy Joens was soloist and Mrs. Bonita Hagedorn was organist.

Interment was in the Manning Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Wesley Nulle, Marvin Pfannkuch, Eddie Fisher, Ernest Ehlers, Robert Kruse, and Herbert Hass.
