Emil Meggers Of Manning Dies
Emil C. Meggers, 77, former member of the Crawford County board of supervisors and for 30 years chairman of the board of assembly of the Manning Lutheran Church, died Friday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Anna Fries, near Ida Grove.

Funeral Tuesday
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church here with Pastor John M. Ansorge officiating. Burial will be in Manning Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, William F., Westside; Ed, Manilla; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Wilhelmina) Gruhn and Mrs. Hubert (Edna) Rowedder, Manning; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A brother, Frank, lives in Denison.

Mr. Meggers was preceded in death by his wife, January 20, 1930; and twin sons, who died in infancy.

Long Time Resident
Born July 1, 1875, in Clinton County, Iowa, he came with his parents, Franz and Anna Meggers, in 1879 to Western Iowa. In 1890, the family settled in the present farm west of Manning in Crawford County. Mr. Meggers lived there until recently.

He was married December 5, 1898, to Sophia Nulle in the Lutheran Church here. He was an active farmer until 1931. He served on the Crawford board of supervisors for six years.
