Last Rites Held For Mrs. Charles Molter, 80
Mrs. Charles H. Molter, 80, succumbed to a heart attack at her home 53 Ann.
Street about five o'clock Monday morning, May 10.
She had been in ill health for the last two months. Funeral services will be held today, Thursday, May 13 at two o'clock at the Ohde Funeral Home with the Rev. H.J. Timmer of the Manilla Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.
Pallbearers are neighbors: John Mundt, Willis Puck, P.H. Jones, Grover Bartels, Jens Sonksen, and J.W. Meggers.
Mrs. Molter, a resident of Carroll County for thirty-two years, was well-known in this community.
She was born Emilia Kuhl, September 16, 1862, in Burg, Schleswig, Holstein, Germany, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Kuhl. At the age of eleven years she came to Iowa from Rock Island, Illinois. She had lived in Davenport, Westside, Aspinwall, and Denison, before making her home in Manning.
On October 6, 1882, she married Charles H. Molter at Denison. Mr. Molter, a farmer, served as supervisor of Crawford County for nine years. He passed away February 21, 1930.
Mrs. Molter was the mother of four children, all of whom survive. They are Mrs. George Mohr (Elfrieda), Julius Molter and Edward Molter, all of Manning, and Mrs. Herman Anthony (Hulda), Westside. She leaves six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. H.H. Kuhl of Audubon, and Mrs. William Kruse, Manning, and one brother, J. Julius Kuhl of Carroll.
Two sisters preceded her in death, Mrs. Jacob Kuhl of Manning and Mrs. John Miller of Denison.
Mrs. Molter was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Music was rendered by a quartet composed of Martha (Mrs. Nicholas C.) Schrum, Emma (Mrs. Albert) Dietz, Herman C. Pahde, and Clifford M. Johnson, accompanied by Bonita (Mrs. Henry W.) Hagedorn.
