Mrs. Henry Ohrt, who would have been 79 years old February 21, died at her home in South Manning Monday night, February 6, 1956. She had been ill for some time, but her death was unexpected.
Funeral services will be at Zion Lutheran Church here Friday afternoon. Pastor George Eschenbacher will officiate. The body is now at the Ohde Funeral home.
Daughter of Henry and Sophia (Grage) Hagge, born February 21, 1878, Emelia is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Arnold (Gladys) Sonksen, Manning; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Frahm, Manning, and Mrs. John Schelldorf, Sundance, Wyoming; and one brother, Henry Hagge, Westside.
Emelia, daughter of Henry and Sophia (Grage) Hagge, was born February 21, 1878, in Hayes Township. She lived with her parents until her marriage January 17, 1902. The couple had one daughter, Gladys, Mrs. Arnold Sonksen, of Botna.
Mr. and Mrs. Ohrt lived on a farm eight miles north of Manning for six years; then on a farm five miles west for five years. For 20 years following, they lived on a farm eight miles southwest and moved to Manning proper in 1927.
Mrs. Ohrt had been in ill health more than a year and bedfast since February 5.
She is survived by her husband and daughter; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Schelldorf, Sundance, Wyoming; Mrs. Dora Frahm, Manning; and a brother, Henry Hagge, Westside. She was preceded in death by her parents, a twin sister, Mrs. Emma Frahm; another sister, Mrs. Christine Strathman; and two brothers, John and Julius Hagge.
Mr. and Mrs. Ohrt observed their golden wedding anniversary January 17, 1952.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
