ELVIN L. POPP

Funeral services for Elvin L. Popp, 72, of Manning, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 11, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, with the Rev. Sushil Joseph officiating. Burial will be in the Manning City Cemetery.

Mr. Popp died Sunday, June 7, 1987, at Manning General Hospital in Manning. Visitation will be after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Ohde Funeral Home.

Organist for the funeral service will be Bev Smith. Vocalist will be JoAnn Karsten.

Survivors include his wife, Jaenice, of Manning; a daughter, Patsy (Mrs. E.E.) Youngblood, Jr., of Pearsall, Texas; his mother, Laura Popp, of Eventide Nursing Home in Denison: three grandchildren, Rodney Youngblood and his wife, Malissa, Sheila Youngblood, and Todd Youngblood; a sister, Phillis (Mrs. Don) Wilson, Jr., of Hesperia, California, and a brother, Russell Popp, and his wife, Margaret, of Ute.

Mr. Popp was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Marvin Popp; and a sister, Muriel Backous.

He was born September 10, 1914, in Washington Township in Carroll County, the son of Detlef and Laura (Hinze) Popp. He attended country school near his home.

On August 25, 1943, he married Jaenice Stoelk. They farmed in Audubon and Carroll counties for a short time before moving to Manning. He worked for Priebe & Sons, the city of Manning, and area farmers. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Manning.
