Elvin Duverne "Mac" McConnell, 74, a resident of Springdale, Arkansas, died Sunday, March 29, 1998, at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. He was born January 3, 1924, at Botna, Iowa, the son of Marion and Viola (Corson) McConnell.
He lived in the Springdale area six years coming from Coon Rapids, Iowa. He graduated from Manning High School in 1941. He married Shirley Grundmeier on September 28, 1948. He was a farmer for Marvin Penfold and Dr. R.E. Shirbroun and was a maintenance supervisor for Thomas-Resthaven Nursing Home of Coon Rapids, Iowa.
Elvin was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley McConnell, of Springdale, Arkansas; three sons: Terry McConnell and his wife, Christy, of Springdale; Thomas McConnell of Fayetteville; and Jim McConnell and his wife, April, of Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii; three daughters: Becky and her husband, John Kugler, of Peoria, Illinois; Bev and her husband, Rick McCurdy, of Fayetteville, and Shannon and her husband, Mike Covington, of Ely, Iowa; two brothers: Milford McConnell of Manning, Iowa and Virgil McConnell of Sacramento, California; eleven grandchildren; Jeremy, Lincoln and Lindsey McCurdy; Nathan, Erin and Tyler Kugler; Jacob and Maggie McConnell; and Zach, Trevor and Alex Covington.
