Elvera C. Wiemann

Funeral Service for Elvera C. Wiemann was held Monday, March 17, 2003, at 1:00 p.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. Pastor Walter J. Kukkonen officiated. Interment was in the Manning Cemetery in Manning, Iowa, with Doug Jorgensen, Walter Lage, Earl Lauritsen, Joel Porsch, Marvin Jo Porsch, and Travis Porsch.

Elvera Carrie Wiemann, daughter of Christian and Johanna (Jorgensen) Hermansen, was born May 3, 1924, on her parent's farm near Winterset, Iowa. Elvera's mother died when she was two years old and she was raised by her aunt and uncle, Erick and Sidsel Marie Jorgensen who resided in Audubon County, Iowa.

Elvera was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Audubon. She attended Audubon Community Schools, graduating with the High School Class of 1943. Elvera and her cousin moved to California where Elvera found a job working for a veterinarian.

On May 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to Roy J. Regan, Sr. in California. They lived in Glendale, California, for many years. Roy died July 13, 1963. Elvera continued working for the veterinarian until she returned to Iowa in 1985.

On April 6, 1985, she married Marvin Wiemann at Red Oak, Iowa. They enjoyed traveling during their marriage. Marvin died November 4, 1990. Elvera lived in Manning for several years until she moved to her present home in Audubon in the mid-1990s. Elvera was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Audubon and was a member of the Lutheran Women.

Preceding her in death in addition to her husbands were her parents; and three brothers: George Hermansen, Emil Hermansen, and Herman Hermansen.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, LaDean Hermansen of Corning, Iowa; many cousins, other relatives and special friends: Alvin Paulsen and Naomi Larsen.

Kessler Funeral Home in Audubon was in charge of arrangements.
