Funeral services for Elsie M. Siem were held at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning Wednesday, June 22, 1977, at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Interment was in Manning Cemetery with Errol Wegner, Russell Mohr, David Mohr, Allen Mohr, James Wegner and Michael Mohr as casketbearers.

Elsie M., daughter of Chris D. and Marie Mohr, was born February 24, 1899, in Crawford County, near Manning, Iowa. She was united in marriage with Peter A. Siem on January 26, 1918, at Manning. They lived in Aspinwall until moving to Manning in 1929, where she was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, the Dorcas Society of the church and a past' president of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Following the death of her husband May 19, 1957, she has made her home with her children. At the time of her death she was living with her daughter, Geraldine, and passed away while visiting her son Lester, on June 19, 1977, at Warsaw, Indiana, at the age of 78 years, 3 months, 25 days.

Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Gosch; by 2 children in infancy and by one brother, Emil Mohr.

She is survived by her son, Lester Siem, Kokomo, Indiana, a daughter , Geraldine, Mrs. Leroy Joens, Omaha, Neb.; 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; by 3 sisters, Leona, Mrs. Herman Asmus, Middletown, Iowa, Mrs. Verna Wegner, Manning, Marcella, Mrs. Fred Asmus, Columbus Junction, Iowa; by 4 brothers, George Mohr, Manning, John P. Mohr, Carroll, Iowa, Chris Mohr, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Kenneth Mohr, Minneapolis, Minnesota; as well as by many other relatives and friends.
