ELSA MARIE WIESE

Funeral services for Elsa Marie Wiese were held Saturday, November 26, 1988, at 10:30 a.m., at Ohde Funeral Home in Manilla, Iowa. Pastor Sushil Joseph of United Methodist Church, Manilla, officiated the service with Connie Siepker as organist and Carolyn Miller as vocalist. Interment was in Manning City Cemetery with Tom. Hargens, Kent Wiese, Drew Wiese, Terry Hargens, Kyle Wiese and Dan Hicks as casketbearers. Honorary casket-bearers were Lonny Hargens, Harlan Moore, Bob Miller, Doug Ritchisen, Doug Bower, Terry Sigler, Douglas Hicks, Mike Centarri, Chad Henkelman, and T.J. Moore.

Elsa, daughter of Andrew and Liza Rohr Boyens, was born April 9, 1900, in Crawford County, Iowa. She attended rural schools near her home. September 17, 1919, she was united in marriage with Louie Wiese at Carroll, Iowa. After their marriage they lived in the country around Manning. When her husband began working for the railroad they moved to Manilla where Elsa worked at Longnecker's Produce, Olson's Produce and the Manilla schools as a custodian. Even while she was working outside the home Elsa enjoyed her role as a mother and homemaker, loving to cook and bake. She enjoyed music throughout her life. Elsa was a member of the United Methodist Church in Manilla, the WSCS, and the American Legion Auxiliary.


Elsa Wiese is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
