Funeral rites for Elmer Schroeder, 69, retired farmer, were held at 11:00 a.m.
on Wednesday, November 12, at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning, with Rev.
Andrew Stewart-Morris of the Manning Methodist Church officiating. Burial was
in the Manning Cemetery, with nephews acting as pallbearers.
Son of Peter D. and Bertha C. (Ronfeldt) Schroeder, he was born November 25, 1899, in Washington Township, Carroll County, and attended rural schools. He lived on the same farm until 1966, when he moved to Manning, and lived with his sister, Mrs. Lillie Joens for two years, and for the past year lived in his own home with his sister, Edna.
In failing health for a year, he was taken to St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll early Monday morning, November 10, 1969, and died there later in the morning.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Herman, and two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Frahm, and Mrs. Laura Joens.
He is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Joens, Mrs. John (Lena) Joens, Mrs. Elsie Rix, and Edna Schroeder, all of Manning.
