MRS. ELLEN STONE

Funeral rites for Mrs. Ellen (Stenstrom) Stone, 91, will be held at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning Thursday, April 25, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Carl Sinning, pastor of the Manning Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Ray Pratt will be soloist, and Mrs. Henry W. Hagedorn the organist. Burial will be in the Manning Cemetery.

Born in Stockholm, Sweden, July 7, 1871, she came to Michigan at the age of 20. In 1893, she married Charles Stone; and the couple farmed in Nebraska until moving to Audubon County in 1908. They lived near Coon Rapids until their retirement to Manning in 1942. Mr. Stone died June 10, 1950.

Mrs. Stone lived in Manning for several years following her husband's death, then made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Gifford Yager, at Coon Rapids. For the past 4 1/2 years she has lived with another daughter, Mrs. Howard King at Rapid City, South Dakota. She died at Rapid City, Sunday, April 21, 1963. Her body was brought to Manning Monday evening.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. King, Mrs. Yager, and Mrs. Cecelia Strandberg, Inglewood, California; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
