Funeral services for Ella Puck were, held Tuesday, May 31, 1983, 11:00 a.m. at Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, Iowa. The Reverend Dennis Johnson of the First Presbyterian Church officiated. Judy Joens was vocalist and Dorothy Kusel was organist. Interment was in Manning Cemetery with Edward Puck, Jr., Garry Puck, Ben Puck, Dale Ewoldt, Lewis Puck and Earl Lauritsen as casketbearers.

Ella, daughter of William and Margaretha Joens Puck was born October 21, 1897, in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, Iowa. She attended country, schools near her home. She made her home with her parents on the family farm and eventually moved into Manning with her mother and cared for her until her death. She then lived with her sisters, Maggie Puck and Minnie Clausen.

Ella was a member of the Harfonia Club for many years and was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years.

After a short illness, Ella died at St. Anthony Hospital, Carroll, Iowa, Thursday, May 26, 1983, at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 5 days.

She was preceded in death by her parent; 6 brothers: Bernhard, Pete, George, Harry, Albert, Adolf; and 3 sisters: Laura Puck, Frieda Berkheimer and Alvina Ewoldt.

She is survived by 2 sisters: Maggie Puck and Minnie Clausen, Manning; and 2 brothers: William and Edward Puck, Manning, and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Elsie Puck, Manilla; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Ella Puck is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
