Mrs. Ray Witt succumbed October 17, 1963 at St Anthony
Funeral services for Mrs. Raymond (Elizabeth M.) Witt, 49, were held at Zion
Lutheran church in Manning on Monday, October 21, at 2 o'clock with Pastor
George B. Eschenbacher officiating. Burial was in the Manning cemetery.
Pallbearers were Merrill Callender, Earl Pfannkuch, Henry Gruhn, Louis Vennink, John Barten, and Ray Ehlers.
Daughter of Henry and Elsie (Wollenberg) Schluter, she was born December 18, 1913, in Jackson Township, Crawford County. She attended rural schools and also the Wall Lake School. On February 7, 1934, she was married to Raymond G. Witt at Arcadia, by the Rev. Theo Tews.
Following their marriage they lived on a farm southwest of Manning. Mrs. Witt died on Thursday, October 17, at St Anthony hospital in Carroll following a short illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son in infancy, one brother and one sister.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Charlene) Stokey, Omaha; Mrs. Robert (Ardith) Baylor, Omaha; Larry and Russell, at home; seven grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters: Emil Schluter, Breda; Mrs. Ernest (Ann) Kroeger, Carroll; Mrs. Francis (Kate) Garrels, Long Beach, California; Mrs. Herman (Lillian) Schafer, Ida Grove; George Schluter, Anion; Ed Schluter, Ida Grove; Mrs. Marvin (Henrietta) Holmes, Torrance, California; Elmer Schluter, Kiron; and Mrs. Ray (Mamie) Karsten, Nemaha, Nebraska.
