Elizabeth MacLaughlin
Memorial services for Elizabeth MacLaughlin, 80, of Columbia, Maryland, formerly, of Davenport, were held Sunday at the family farm in Clarksville, Maryland. Inurnment is in Manning, Iowa, Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity; Cancer Society of Maryland; Colley College, Nevada, Missouri; Iowa Heart Association; OMEGA Inc.; Hospice Services of Howard County; or St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary or the Befrienders, both of Davenport.

Mrs. MacLaughlin died August 8, 1985, at the home of her son in Clarksville.

She retired as executive secretary and division director of the Iowa Heart Association. She also had been employed by the Chicago Tribune and Des Moines Register and Tribune.

Elizabeth Sinn married Allen M. MacLaughlin. He died in 1956.

She was a former member of the Parent Teachers Association, Girl Scout Council, Lend-A-Hand Club, St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary, the Befrienders and Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, all of Davenport; Kappa Delta Alumnae; and Chapter F.J. of P.E.O. Sisterhood of Iowa and Chapter W of P.E.O., Maryland.

She graduated from the Iowa State University School of Journalism, Ames.

Survivors include a sister, Arlien Norman, Eau Claire, Wisconsin; sons, John, Clarksville; and David, Columbia; and two grandchildren.

Elizabeth Christine Sinn was born in 1905, daughter of Jens and Louise (Widmann) Sinn.
