Eileen Stoelk
Eileen Stoelk, 65, of Manning, died at her home Saturday morning, November 7, 1987.

A prayer service was held at 8 p.m. Monday, November 9, at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, with Pastor Robert Riggert officiating. Music was provided by Fern Jensen who was accompanied by the congregation.

Interment was at Manning City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Raynor Schlimmer, Harold Wetzel, Kenneth Wetzel, Keith Jensen, Duane Smith, and Laverne Olsen.

Honorary bearers were Kenneth Dethlefs, Edward Wigg, Eugene Schatz, Harold Schroeder, Arthur Kuhn, and Leslie Doyel.

Born May 14, 1922, in Manilla, she was the daughter of Andrew and Gertie (Wigg) Jensen. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Irwin. A 1939 graduate of Manilla High School, she taught in country schools in Crawford and Shelby counties for 11 years.

She married Merle Stoelk on June 22, 1952, and they lived in Manning. She established and operated an H&R Block Income Tax Franchise in Denison for 15 years.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Evening Circle and the Lutheran Laymen's League.

Survivors include her husband, Merle of Manning; four children and their spouses, Eugene and Karen Stoelk of West Linn, Oregon, Marlys and Terry Anderson and Donna Stoelk of Ankeny, and David Stoelk of Los Angeles, California; three grandchildren, Michael Anderson, Nicholas Anderson and Nathan Stoelk; a sister, Beatrice Snyder of Denison; an uncle, Donald Jensen of Lennox; three aunts, Edna Smith of Harlan, Ethel Scott of Missouri Valley and Ruth Wigg of San Ramon, California; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
