Edward William Stangl was born July 8, 1947, in Manning, Iowa, to August and Dorothy (Eisenmenger) Stangl. He graduated with the Manning High School class of 1966 and was Salutatorian. Ed married Lynn Colony on September 6, 1971; they have three children; Theresa, Patrick and Andrew.

Ed passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines at the age of 68.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 29, 2015, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., with a Vigil service following at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial mass will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday July 30 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. A private inurnment will be at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Templeton, Iowa.

Edward is survived by his wife, Lynn Stangl; children, Theresa (Scott) Tebbe, Patrick Stangl and Andrew (Vanessa) Stangl; siblings, Robert Stangl, Bill (Terri) Stangl, Irene Orr, Marjorie (Dave) Patterson and Jim (Jean) Stangl. Ed was preceded in death by his parents.
