Former County Resident Dies In Wyoming

Friends and relatives were saddened by the news that a former resident of East Boyer and more recently of Hayes Township, Edward Mordhorst, died at his home in Cheyenne. Wyoming, Sunday. His funeral was held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Cheyenne.

He attended school in East Boyer Center and farmed in East Boyer until 1920 when they moved to Hayes Township. In 1946 the family moved to Cheyenne. His parents, George and Anna (Sievers) Mordhorst; a sister Stella, Mrs. Louie Jahn; and a son Glen preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, the former Adela Jahn, three sons Leslie, Carl and Marvin and two sisters, Ella, Mrs. John Rowedder, and Hattie, Mrs. Jahn and a number of grandchildren nephews and nieces.

Former Manning Resident Dies
Ed Mordhorst, 61, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, died suddenly at his home Sunday, March 22. Funeral services were held there Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Mordhorst had moved from the Manning community six years ago to Cheyenne.

Survivors include his wife, the former Adele Jahn, three sons, Leslie and Marvin of Cheyenne, and Karl of Tucson, Arizona. Six grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. John Rowedder, Manning, and Mrs. Hugo H. Jahn of Manilla.

Those attending the funeral from this area were Mr. and Mrs. Louie Jahn, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Kuhl, Marvin Kuhl, Leslie Meggers, Mrs. Bennie Otto, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo H. Jahn, Roy Jahn, Ed Meggers and LeRoy Rowedder of Manilla; Gilbert Rowedder and Mr. and Mrs. Hugo Wilhelm of Westside; John Meggers of Botna, and Mrs. Amos Jahn of Adair.

Those attending from Manning were Mrs. Virtus Vollstedt, Mrs. Minna Meggers, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jahn, Mrs. Carl Brus, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Erps, C.L. Jahn, Mrs. Willie Otto, Mr. and Mrs. Hugo P.G. Jahn, Mrs. Milo Stammer, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Jahn, Mr. and Mrs. John Rowedder and Joann, Mrs. Bill Dammann, jr., Mrs. Carl Otto, Charlie Kuhl, Mrs. Clarence Bowers and Claus Strosahl.
